Auburn football moves camp to Opelika Marriott hotel for 13‑day training period
Auburn Tigers head coach Alex Golesh has relocated the team’s 2026 fall camp to the Marriott hotel and resort at Robert Trent Jones Grand National in Opelika, Alabama, for a 13‑day stretch before classes begin. Golesh said the arrangement eliminates distractions – no girlfriends, pets, or personal vehicles – and will keep players focused on preparation.
Offensive coordinator Joel Gordon, also hired by Golesh, highlighted senior wide receiver Chas Nimrod as a potential key target for quarterback Byrum Brown. Nimrod, a five‑year senior who followed Golesh from South Florida, recorded 23 receptions for 466 yards last season, including a 100‑yard game against Miami. Gordon expects Nimrod to compete for a starting role if he remains healthy.
