Auchan Romania partners with Habitat for Humanity to build 10 homes

Auchan Romania has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to launch the ‘Căsuțe pentru căsuțe’ (Little Houses for Homes) project. To mark its 20th anniversary in the Romanian market, the retailer has allocated €625,000 to support the construction of 10 homes for vulnerable families.

The housing project is scheduled to take place between 2026 and 2027 in two locations within Bacău and Prahova counties. Customers can contribute to the initiative by purchasing collectible toy construction houses available in Auchan stores and online; the proceeds from these sales will fund the construction of the actual homes.

The initiative also features an educational component, including the free distribution of 1,000 educational building sets to schools across 18 cities to promote the concept of solidarity among children.
