Auckland and Copenhagen airports report rising passenger traffic

Auckland Airport reported a 3% increase in total revenue, driven by a 1.6% rise in passenger movements to 19.04 million. However, retail income saw a 4% decline to NZ $181 million due to ongoing staged refurbishments and an optimization of its single-operator model. Despite the drop in total retail income, the passenger spend rate increased by 5%, with growth in electronics and cosmetics offsetting lower alcohol sales. The airport is currently undergoing a retail upgrade, including a duty-free refresh by Lagardère and the planned opening of 16 new food and beverage outlets.

Copenhagen Airports reported a 9% increase in passenger traffic to 16.1 million during the first half of 2026, marking its highest-ever six-month passenger volume. Total company revenues rose by 9% to DKK 2.8 billion, while profit before tax increased by 43% to DKK 851 million. Non-aeronautical income grew by 6% to DKK 105 billion, though commercial business growth trailed the rate of passenger traffic growth. Transfer passenger numbers rose by 31%, with 27% of all passengers connecting through the Copenhagen hub.
