Auckland City Hospital to upgrade interventional radiology services
Auckland City Hospital is undergoing a $38.2 million upgrade to its interventional radiology services to improve stroke care and other lifesaving procedures. The investment aims to reduce wait times and ensure patients receive timely treatment for conditions such as blood clots and ruptured blood vessels.
This second stage of the project follows a $41.2 million initial investment. The upgrade includes replacing aging imaging systems with modern technology, refurbishing three operating rooms, and adding a new interventional CT operating room. The project is expected to be completed over the next three years, with facilities coming online in phases to maintain continuous patient care.
