Audeze launches MM-520 professional studio headphones

Audeze has released the MM-520, an open-back planar magnetic monitor headphone designed for professional studio use. Developed in collaboration with 18-time Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer Manny Marroquin, the MM-520 serves as the successor to the widely used MM-500 model.

The new model features the patent-pending ‘SLAM’ (Symmetric Linear Acoustic Modulator) technology, which aims to provide tighter low-end response and improved midrange precision. The headphones utilize 90mm ‘Ultra-Thin Uniforce’ diaphragms and Neodymium N50 magnets, with drivers handcrafted and precision-tuned in Audeze’s workshop in Southern California.

Designed for long mixing sessions, the MM-520 includes upgraded ergonomic memory foam ear pads and a new magnetic attachment system for easy cleaning and replacement. Technical specifications include a frequency response of 5Hz to 50kHz, an impedance of 18Ω, and a sensitivity of 102dB/1mW. The retail price is approximately 363,000 yen.
