Audi A2 e‑tron electric compact set for 2026 launch

Audi is preparing the electric revival of its iconic A2 model, now called the A2 e‑tron. Built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, the compact hatchback will use a fully electric powertrain and retain visual cues from the original, such as a split rear glass and wing‑let door handles. Prototypes were photographed in Copenhagen without the traditional black‑white camouflage, showing design details and 19‑inch aerodynamic wheels fitted with Bridgestone Turanza tires.

Pricing starts at €38,200, placing the car under the €40,000 threshold and targeting the urban market segment below the Q4 e‑tron. Audi projects a range of up to 649 km on a single charge. The official world premiere is slated for autumn 2026, with deliveries from early 2027.

The launch marks Audi’s effort to expand its electric lineup with an affordable, highly efficient model, leveraging the MEB architecture also used by the VW ID.3 Neo.
