Audi A2 e-tron electric compact slated for late‑2026 launch
Audi is preparing to revive the A2 name with the A2 e‑tron, a compact electric hatchback built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ platform and closely related to the ID. 3 Neo. Spy photos of a camouflaged prototype have shown a design that echoes the original 1999‑2005 A2 while adding modern aerodynamic details, a split rear glass and slim door pulls.
The model will be offered with three battery packs – 50 kWh, 58 kWh and 79 kWh – delivering a WLTP range of up to 630 km (some specifications list 649 km). Audi says the entry‑level price in Germany will start at €38,200. Power outputs will range from 125 kW (170 hp) to 240 kW (326 hp). The A2 e‑tron will launch in autumn 2026, with sales expected before the end of the year, positioned below the Q4 e‑tron in Audi’s electric lineup.
No four‑wheel‑drive system is planned, and production will use the same rear‑wheel‑drive architecture as the ID. 3 Neo. The car is marketed as Audi’s most affordable EV, aiming to combine low running costs with premium branding.
