Audi A6 Sportback e-tron sets Guinness World Record for EV range
An Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by a production electric vehicle on a single charge, covering 1,338 kilometers. The feat was achieved by European Rally Champion Miko Marczyk during a 45-hour journey across Poland.
Driving on public roads in normal traffic, Marczyk followed the Vistula River from Zakopane through cities including Krakow, Warsaw, and Torun, eventually reaching the Hel Peninsula before returning. The vehicle maintained an average energy consumption of just 7.09 kWh per 100 kilometers, significantly lower than the official WLTP range of approximately 777 kilometers.
Key factors contributing to the record include the vehicle's aerodynamic design, which features a drag coefficient of 0.21, and the driver's highly efficient technique. Marczyk focused on smooth acceleration, minimal braking, and maximizing energy recovery through the car's regenerative braking system. The test was conducted in ambient temperatures ranging from 7 to 15 degrees Celsius.
