Audi unveils A2 e-tron electric compact hatchback
Audi has officially unveiled the A2 e-tron, an all-electric compact hatchback that marks the return of the A2 nameplate for the first time since 2005. Positioned as an entry-level premium EV, the model is built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ platform, sharing technical foundations with the VW ID.3.
Designed with a heavy emphasis on efficiency and aerodynamics, the A2 e-tron features a drag coefficient of 0.24. Audi claims it is the most efficient production model in the brand’s history, with a preliminary WLTP energy consumption of just 12.8 kWh/100 km. Depending on the battery configuration—offering 52 kWh, 61 kWh, or 84 kWh capacities—the vehicle provides a driving range of up to 646 kilometers.
The lineup includes four power outputs ranging from 125 kW (170 hp) to 240 kW (326 hp). The vehicle is rear-wheel drive and supports bidirectional charging (Vehicle-to-Load and Vehicle-to-Home). Interior features include a curved MMI panoramic display with an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit and a 12.8-inch touchscreen.
Orders are expected to open in late 2026, with deliveries scheduled to begin in December 2026 or early 2027. Prices in Germany are set to start at approximately €38,200.
