Audi appoints Thomas Fuhr as CEO of Formula 1 power unit division
Audi has appointed Thomas Fuhr as the CEO of Audi Formula Racing GmbH, effective November 1, 2026. The move is designed to strengthen the leadership of the German manufacturer’s Formula 1 power unit program at its Neuburg an der Donau facility.
The appointment aims to separate organizational leadership from technical development. This structure allows Chief Technology Officer Stefan Dreyer to focus exclusively on the technical development of the power unit, while Chief Operating Officer Christian Foyer continues to oversee operations at the Neuburg site.
Fuhr brings over three decades of engineering and executive experience to the role, including a previous tenure as Managing Director of Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains from 2009 to 2012. His recent background includes senior leadership roles at GROHE, LIXIL, and Georg Fischer Building Flow Solutions.
