Audi conducts 15‑km test of 2026 Formula 1 power unit in Neuburg, fueling ADUO upgrade rumours

Audi ran a brief 15‑kilometre demonstration of its 2026 Formula 1 power unit at its Neuburg facility. The test, shown to company staff, was described as a restricted demonstration, the shortest mileage allowed under current F1 regulations. Driver Gabriel Bortoleto noted the car’s overall balance but said the unit still lacks sufficient power, adding that GPS data clearly shows the shortfall.

The activity revives speculation that Audi may be using the sport’s ADUO equalisation system to develop an upgraded power unit, a mechanism intended to let manufacturers that fall behind catch up under the new technical rules.
