Audi driver Nico Hulkenberg eyes recovery at Sepang

Audi F1 driver Nico Hulkenberg is optimistic about the upcoming Grand Prix in Malaysia, believing the Sepang circuit may better suit the team’s current car performance following a difficult weekend in Baku.

During the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Audi introduced a second major upgrade package. While the updates showed clear progress in cornering, the team struggled with straight-line speed, resulting in a double elimination in Q1 and Hulkenberg narrowly missing a points finish after losing a battle with a Williams in the final meters of the race.

Hulkenberg noted that the technical sections of Sepang reward precision and that the circuit's characteristics may mitigate the straight-line speed issues encountered in Baku. The team aims to extract further performance from their recent technical evolutions to return to the points zone.
