Audi F1 boss Mattia Binotto addresses Carlos Sainz rumors

Audi F1 project leader Mattia Binotto has addressed speculation linking Carlos Sainz and Oscar Piastri to the German manufacturer. Binotto stated that he is satisfied with the team's current driver pairing of Nico Hülkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto for the 2027 season.

While acknowledging that it is “easy and obvious” to link Sainz to Audi due to their previous working relationship at Ferrari, Binotto emphasized his contentment with the existing lineup. He described Hülkenberg and Bortoleto as two very fast drivers who provide a strong foundation for the project. Binotto noted that the rumors surrounding other high-profile drivers serve as a testament to the growing “credibility” of the Audi F1 project.
