Audi F1 project faces pressure to deliver results amid VW Group crisis

Ralf Schumacher has warned that Audi’s Formula 1 project may face internal pressure from the Volkswagen Group if significant success does not arrive sooner than the team's 2030 championship target. While Audi has moved from the back of the grid toward the midfield, Schumacher suggests that the wider crisis within the Volkswagen Group could jeopardize the racing program if results remain modest.

Audi driver Nico Hülkenberg recently secured his first points for the factory operation following engine refinements developed in Neuburg an der Donau. Despite this progress, Hülkenberg noted the inherent difficulty of developing a completely new power unit from scratch with limited resources compared to established engine manufacturers.

Audi’s Chief Operating and Chief Technical Officer, Mattia Binotto, maintains a long-term perspective, emphasizing that the team has focused on building necessary technical know-how and skills during its initial phase.
