Audi launches limited‑edition Nuvolari 1,001‑hp hybrid supercar

Audi has introduced the Nuvolari, a limited‑edition hybrid supercar named after racing legend Tazio Nuvolari. The car combines a 4.0‑litre V8 twin‑turbo engine producing 800 hp with three 150 hp electric motors and a 7.3 kWh lithium‑ion battery, delivering a total output of 1,001 hp. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and exceed 350 km/h, while an active rear wing provides up to 400 kg of downforce.

The prototype was first shown at the Monaco Grand Prix, where Audi secured several purchase contracts. The model entered its final development phase with dynamic and aerodynamic testing on Germany’s Nürburgring circuit. The vehicle shares its architecture with the Lamborghini Temerario but features a bespoke setup by Audi, including a three‑position active rear wing and a four‑wheel‑drive system with front‑mounted electric motors.

Production will be strictly limited to 499 units worldwide, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2027. Design cues from Massimo Frascella emphasize a clean, purposeful aesthetic that echoes historic racing heritage while leveraging modern hybrid technology.
