Audi launches limited‑edition Nuvolari hypercar

Audi announced the Nuvolari, a 499‑unit hybrid super‑sportscar that will be the brand’s most powerful series model with a combined output of 1,001 hp (736 kW). The powertrain pairs a 4.0‑litre V8 biturbo delivering 800 hp with three electric motors, enabling a 0‑100 km/h sprint in 2.6 seconds, a 200 km/h run in 6.8 seconds and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h. Deliveries are planned for the first half of 2027. The car features Audi’s quattro Predictive Ride system, active torque‑vectoring, advanced regenerative braking and a purpose‑built chassis that blends an aluminium space frame with carbon‑fibre bodywork. Active aerodynamics, including a DRS‑equipped rear wing, provide up to 400 kg of downforce.

The Nuvolari name revives Audi’s 2003 Nuvolari Quattro concept shown at Le Mans, which was designed by Walter de Silva and driven by rally legend Michèle Mouton. That earlier study used a 5‑litre V10 derived from a Lamborghini Gallardo, produced 600 hp, and introduced several first‑generation technologies such as LED headlights, adaptive air suspension and a six‑speed Shift‑by‑Wire gearbox. Both vehicles showcase Audi’s long‑term focus on high‑performance hybridisation, lightweight construction and motorsport‑derived technology.
