Audi launches Nuvolari plug‑in hybrid supercar with 1,001 hp
Audi has unveiled the Nuvolari, the brand’s first plug‑in hybrid supercar. The limited‑edition model delivers a combined 1,001 horsepower from an 800 hp V8 engine paired with three 150 hp electric motors and a 7.3 kWh lithium‑ion battery. It can accelerate from 0‑100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and exceed 350 km/h, with a top speed limited only by the vehicle’s aerodynamics.
Production is capped at 499 units, with deliveries expected from the first half of 2027. Pre‑orders in Europe will open in Q4 2024. The Nuvolari features a carbon‑fiber monocoque body, an Audi Space Frame, active aerodynamics derived from Formula 1—including a DRS‑type rear wing—and a predictive quattro all‑wheel‑drive system that manages torque distribution before loss of traction. The design follows Audi’s new minimalist styling language and pays tribute to legendary Italian racer Tazio Nuvolari.
The car represents Audi’s flagship demonstration of how electrification can be merged with extreme performance, signalling the brand’s direction for future high‑performance models.
