Audi launches Nuvolari hybrid supersport with 1,001 hp

Audi introduced the Nuvolari, a hybrid supersport model that combines a 4.0‑liter V8 twin‑turbo engine (800 hp) with three electric motors to deliver a total output of 1,001 horsepower (736 kW). The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds and is claimed to exceed 350 km/h, with an active rear wing that provides over 400 kg of downforce and a DRS‑type system borrowed from Formula 1.

The Nuvolari features Audi’s predictive quattro ride system, which constantly monitors sensors to adjust torque distribution, braking and aerodynamics before the driver reacts. Production is limited to 499 units, with deliveries expected from the first half of 2027. Named after legendary Italian racer Tazio Nuvolari, the name echoes a 2003 concept car that also bore the Nuvolari badge, underscoring Audi’s tradition of using non‑alphanumeric model names for landmark projects.
