Audi may withdraw sponsorship and stake from FC Bayern München
Audi may end its long-standing partnership with FC Bayern München, potentially withdrawing as a sponsor and shareholder. While the current agreement runs until 2029, reports suggest a decision regarding non-renewal could be made by 2027.
Audi currently pays an estimated 45 million euros annually to the club and holds an 8.33 percent stake in FC Bayern München AG. The potential shift follows strategic restructuring within the Volkswagen Group, which owns Audi. Volkswagen’s 2030 strategic plan indicates that investments in football clubs are “fundamentally not part of the target image.”
FC Bayern has expressed satisfaction with the current partnership but has not commented on future changes. Previous speculation has linked BMW as a possible successor to the sponsorship role.
