Audi Quattro tops survey of classic cars fans want to see return
A survey conducted by car broker Carwow reveals that German car enthusiasts most desire a comeback for the Audi Quattro. According to the results, 31.4 percent of respondents named the Quattro as their top choice for a revival.
The Volkswagen Beetle followed with 22 percent, while the Mercedes 190 and Opel Manta received 20.6 percent and 20.4 percent respectively. The Trabant was also mentioned by 5.7 percent of participants.
European automakers are increasingly utilizing retro designs to compete with emerging manufacturers from China. Examples include Citroën’s concept for a new 2CV and Renault’s electric Renault 5. While Audi continues to use the “quattro” name for its all-wheel-drive technology, no official return of the original sport coupe has been announced.
