Audi recalls Q3 models in Europe over seatbelt defect

Audi AG has issued a large-scale recall for certain Audi Q3 models manufactured in Germany between mid-October 2025 and early June 2026. The recall, identified by code 68GG, was flagged by the European Union Safety Gate due to a mechanical defect in the front seatbelt pretensioner.

The defect involves a substandard weld in the gas generator component. In the event of a high-impact collision, the faulty weld could cause metal parts to detach and become secondary projectiles, increasing the risk of injury to passengers. The recall specifically targets model e12018/85800543*(FJ).

Audi Vietnam conducted a comprehensive review of its database against the manufacturer's global recall system. The cross-check confirmed that zero officially distributed Audi Q3 vehicles in Vietnam are affected by this specific campaign, as the product distribution ranges differ between the European and Vietnamese markets.
