Audi launches A2 e-tron compact EV with 400‑mile range
Audi unveiled the all‑electric A2 e‑tron, positioning it as the brand’s most affordable EV. Spy images show a compact design resembling a shrunk Q4 e‑tron with a closed grille and slim LED headlights. Prices start at €38,200 in Germany and the WLTP range reaches up to 403 miles (649 km). The model will replace the A1 and Q2 after their 2027 retirement and will sit on the VW Group’s MEB platform with battery options from 50 kWh to 79 kWh.
Audi also introduced a hybrid‑powered third‑generation Q3 for the Philippine market, delivering 150 hp, 250 Nm and a top speed of 209 km/h, alongside upgraded interior technology.
In Europe, the Dacia Sandero held the top spot in total registrations for the first half of 2026, while Tesla’s Model Y briefly reclaimed the lead in June. The Czech‑made Skoda Elroq became the continent’s second‑best‑selling electric vehicle with 57,561 registrations, overtaking Tesla’s Model 3.
A Spanish review of the Q4 e‑tron praised its conventional Audi driving feel and updated lighting features. Meanwhile, Citroën’s C3 SUV received a €2,700 discount in Spain, offering a 1.2‑litre turbo‑gas engine with 100 hp.
Spain’s rapid EV adoption sparked a surge in home‑charging installations, with installers reporting overwhelming demand and pending government incentives under Plan Auto+.
