Audi to launch A2 e-tron electric compact
Audi is reviving its cult model name with the upcoming Audi A2 e-tron, a compact electric vehicle built on the MEB platform shared with the Volkswagen ID.3. The new model aims to be the most efficient Audi ever produced, utilizing advanced aerodynamics and powertrain technology to achieve a WLTP consumption rate of 12.8 kWh/100 km in its efficiency-focused variant.
Key technical specifications include a 140 kW (190 hp) rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor using silicon carbide semiconductors. The vehicle will feature a 61 kWh LFP battery with a cell-to-pack architecture, supporting bidirectional charging capabilities such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H). Aerodynamic optimizations include an air curtain, wheel gap reducers, and an adaptive air intake, resulting in a drag coefficient of 0.24.
The Audi A2 e-tron is expected to be officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in mid-October, with market availability anticipated in early 2027.
