Audi and Volkswagen announce major vehicle lineup updates

Major European automakers are implementing significant product shifts and design updates. Audi has revealed the third-generation Q3 in India, featuring a larger body, a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine with quattro AWD, and an updated interior with a digital stage setup. The brand is also focusing on revitalizing its A3 model, aiming to improve interior quality and haptic feedback, though the next generation is expected to include combustion and hybrid options rather than being fully electric.

Volkswagen is transitioning its electric lineup by merging established names with its ID series, specifically through the upcoming ID. Tiguan, which aims to move away from the polarizing ID-specific design language toward a more traditional VW aesthetic. Additionally, Audi is reintroducing the A2 e-tron as an entry-level electric model. Meanwhile, BMW is developing the i3 Touring on its new Neue Klasse platform, though reports indicate the removal of certain practical features like the independently opening rear window.
