Audi unveils Nuvolari hybrid supercar with 1,001 PS, limited to 499 units

Audi AG presented the Nuvolari, its first production supercar, as a limited‑run (499) hybrid halo car. The powertrain combines a 4.0‑litre twin‑turbo V8 delivering 800 hp (588 kW) with three axial‑flux electric motors, giving a total output of 1,001 PS (736 kW) and a 7.3 kWh lithium‑ion battery. Performance figures include 0‑100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, 0‑200 km/h in 6.8 seconds and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h (217 mph). The vehicle is built on an Audi Space Frame chassis wrapped in carbon‑fiber‑reinforced polymer, incorporates Formula 1‑derived active aerodynamics (S‑duct, adjustable rear wing with DRS, up to 400 kg of downforce) and a “quattro predictive ride” torque‑vectoring system. Braking is handled by a brake‑by‑wire Audi Ceramic Pro set‑up. Named after racing legend Tazio Nuvolari, the Nuvolari serves as the spiritual successor to the R8. Deliveries are scheduled for the first half of 2027 with a price expected around €600,000–$687,000.
