Audi unveils electric A4 e‑tron set for 2028 launch

Audi confirmed that the A4 name will return as an all‑electric model slated for market entry in 2028. Technical chief Rouven Mohr disclosed that the upcoming A4 e‑tron will adopt Audi’s new "Radical Next" design language and will be built on the group's SSP platform with an 800‑volt architecture for fast charging. The vehicle will feature a blend of digital functions and traditional controls such as buttons and rotary knobs, and an interior concept focused on clarity and a new user experience. A wagon (Avant) version is being considered, reflecting the model’s heritage. The announcement positions the A4 e‑tron against rival electric midsize sedans from BMW and Mercedes‑Benz, with Audi aiming to offer comparable range and performance at a competitive price point.
