Audi unveils Nuvolari hybrid supercar with 1,001 hp
Audi announced the Nuvolari, a hybrid super‑sports car set to replace the R8. The limited‑run (499 units) model combines a 4.0 L V8 biturbo engine (800 hp) with three axial‑flow electric motors (150 hp each) for a combined output of 1,001 horsepower. Audi claims 0‑100 km/h acceleration in 2.6 seconds and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h. The car will feature a 7.3 kWh lithium‑ion battery, brake‑by‑wire system capable of absorbing up to 2.8 MW, and the new Quattro Predictive Ride system that dynamically distributes torque, manages braking and adjusts active aerodynamics. Production is slated for the first half of next year, positioning the Nuvolari as Audi’s flagship technology showcase.
