Audi unveils Nuvolari hybrid supercar developed in 405 days

Audi has unveiled the development process of its new Nuvolari, a hybrid supercar that boasts over 1,000 horsepower. Defying traditional automotive timelines which typically span three to five years, Audi completed the entire process from initial sketch to functional prototype in just 405 days.

To achieve this accelerated timeline, Audi restructured its internal methodology. Moving away from traditional sequential engineering silos, the company established an autonomous, multidisciplinary task force in Ingolstadt. This team, comprising designers, engine engineers, and material specialists, worked in an integrated environment to allow for real-time decision-making and error correction using digital modeling and rapid prototyping.

The Nuvolari serves as a "halo car" and a technological laboratory for future street platforms. The development included rigorous testing across diverse European environments: structural and wind tunnel testing in Germany, mechanical stress tests in sub-zero temperatures in Lapland, Finland, suspension fine-tuning in southern Spain, and high-speed validation at the Nardò track in Italy.
