Audi Nuvolari supercar built in record 405‑day development

Audi has created the Nuvolari supercar from the first sketch to a drivable prototype in just 405 days, the fastest development cycle in the brand’s history. The project was run by a dedicated, autonomous team that kept communication lines short and decisions rapid.

The Nuvolari is a hybrid hyper‑car delivering 1,001 hp from a 4.0‑litre twin‑turbo V8 combined with three electric motors (two on the front axle and one integrated with the transmission). It features active aerodynamics that hide a rear spoiler when not needed, allowing the car to exceed 350 km/h without a large fixed wing. Production is limited to 499 units, with the first deliveries expected in early 2027.

Testing took the prototype across Europe – winter trials in Lapland, lightweight‑structure work in Neckarsulm, wind‑tunnel work in Ingolstadt, suspension testing in southern Spain, and high‑speed runs at the Nardò Technical Center in Italy. Formula 1 drivers Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hülkenberg participated in the final validation, praising the car’s acceleration, sound and handling. The Nuvolari is positioned as a “gentleman racer” and a technical showcase for future Audi models.
