Audi unveils Nuvolari supercar with 1,001 hp hybrid powertrain

Audi has revealed the Nuvolari, a new hybrid super‑sports car positioned as the successor to the R8. The vehicle combines a 4.0‑litre V8 biturbo engine with three electric motors for a total output of 1,001 horsepower. Audi claims a 0‑to‑100 km/h acceleration in 2.6 seconds and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h, making it the brand’s fastest and most powerful production model.

The Nuvolari incorporates technology drawn from Audi’s Formula 1 programme, including sophisticated energy‑management, active aerodynamics and a “quattro predictive ride” system that anticipates loss of grip and distributes torque proactively. Production will be limited to 499 units worldwide, with the first deliveries expected in the first half of 2027. The name honours legendary driver Tazio Nuvolari and signals a new era for Audi’s high‑performance lineup.
