Audiencia Nacional endorses seven magistrates for Supreme Court

The Governing Chamber of the Audiencia Nacional has officially endorsed seven of its magistrates as candidates for the Supreme Court. This endorsement follows a request from the Qualification Section of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) regarding the filling of three vacancies in the Supreme Court's Second Chamber.

The endorsed magistrates include Vicente Manuel Rouco Rodríguez, Jesús Eduardo Gutiérrez Gómez, José Ricardo Juan de Prada Solaesa, Eloy Velasco Núñez, Enrique López López, María Dolores Hernández Rueda, and Joaquín Delgado Martín. The agreement, reported by Audiencia Nacional President Juan Manuel Fernández Martínez, states that all candidates have performed their jurisdictional duties satisfactorily and with appropriate dedication.

The document notes that none of the candidates have unfavorable marks in their personal files or have been sanctioned by the Audiencia Nacional. Among the candidates, Vicente Manuel Rouco Rodríguez is noted as the most senior, having previously served as the President of the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha.
