Audio technology evolves with Radio 3.0 and Sennheiser solutions

The broadcasting industry is undergoing a transformation toward 'Radio 3.0,' a concept highlighted at SET Expo 2026. This evolution focuses on live audio—delivered via FM or streaming—serving as a foundation for multiplatform engagement rather than a replacement of traditional models.

In tandem with these industry shifts, the Sennheiser Group is introducing integrated audio solutions at IBC2026. The company will showcase its Spectera ecosystem, a bidirectional broadband wireless platform. Key upcoming hardware includes the Spectera SKM handheld microphone, expected in mid-September, and the Spectera Base Station ZMAN, which features Merging ZMAN audio network modules for AES67 ecosystems and ST 2110-30 integration. These technologies aim to provide interoperability and connectivity for professional production and transmission workflows.
