Audio technology reviews: Albrecht mobile speaker and Sennheiser soundbar
Recent product evaluations highlight different approaches to improving television audio quality. The Albrecht KLARO is a mobile TV speaker designed specifically to enhance speech intelligibility. Rather than increasing overall volume, it focuses on bringing dialogue closer to the viewer, making it ideal for news, documentaries, and talk shows. The device features a wireless connection, up to 16 hours of battery life, and can function as a Bluetooth speaker. It includes various connection options such as Toslink and 3.5mm audio cables, though it lacks HDMI-ARC support.
In a separate test of soundbars under 1,000 euros, the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Plus emerged as a top performer. This model offers a virtual 7.1.4 setup with 400 watts of power and supports advanced formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. It features AMBEO-3D processing and automatic room calibration via a microphone. While it provides strong bass and spatial sound without an external subwoofer, the test noted that the deepest cinematic bass might require an additional Ambeo subwoofer. The unit includes smart features such as app control, Alexa integration, and support for AirPlay and Chromecast.
