Audiovisual developments in Paraguay and Chile
In Villarrica, Paraguay, the first stop motion animation course held in the country's interior has successfully concluded. The free training program, coordinated by Fátima Paredes and taught by Sara Centurión, resulted in 17 graduates and the creation of over 15 audiovisual works. The closing ceremony, held at the Ayala Talavera Cultural Center, was attended by representatives from the National Institute of Paraguayan Audiovisual (INAP).
In Chile, the HiloNegro audiovisual cycle is presenting the award-winning documentary ‘Las Cruces’ at the Camilo Mori Cultural Center. Directed by Teresa Arredondo and Carlos Vásquez Méndez, the 16mm film reconstructs events following the 1973 coup d'état involving the detention and subsequent discovery of 19 men in Yumbel. The screening is part of a regional initiative by dereojo Comunicaciones to circulate audiovisual heritage throughout the Valparaíso Region.
