Auditorio de Tenerife hosts free Banda Insular concert

The Auditorio de Tenerife scheduled a free concert on Friday, 31 May at 19:30 featuring the Banda Insular of the Federación Tinerfeña de Bandas de Música. The ensemble will be directed by conductors José Suñer‑Oriola, Carlos Garcés and Vivian Gutiérrez.

The program opens with “Lorencín Mendoza”, a 1939 work by Pascual Marquina Narro, conducted by Vivian Gutiérrez, followed by Suñer‑Oriola’s “Euphonium Concerto” (the composer conducts, soloist Mauro Alonso Fariña) and “Images” (conducted by Carlos Garcés). The second half includes Suñer‑Oriola’s “Overture 40” (conducted by the composer) and “El jardín de Hera” (conducted by Gutiérrez). The concert concludes the training series linked to the 17th edition of the Course of Direction of Band, Orchestra and Choirs and is part of the ongoing collaboration between the Cabildo de Tenerife and the federation, which also runs the Primavera Musical concert cycle and a December youth‑band meeting.
