Augsburg hosts diverse cultural and sporting events this weekend

Augsburg and its surrounding region are hosting various cultural, musical, and sporting events this weekend. The Herbstplärrer festival begins with a traditional barrel tapping by Mayor Florian Freund and a fireworks display.

In sports, the Augsburger Panther ice hockey team will play a test match against EHC Kloten at the Curt-Frenzel-Stadion. On Sunday, FC Augsburg is scheduled to host Schalke 04 at the WWK-Arena.

Cultural activities include the Fischerfest in the city market featuring fish dishes and live music, a cover rock concert in Schwabmünchen, and special exhibitions at the Museum Oberschönenfeld focusing on brass music and ceramics. Additionally, the ‘Play Me, Augsburg’ project celebrates its 10th anniversary with colorful pianos placed throughout the city center.
