AUGUST announces 'Uta Macross' rhythm game revival

AUGUST Co., Ltd. has announced 'Uta Macross', a rhythm game based on the 'Macross' anime series. The project aims to revive the discontinued mobile title 'Uta Macross Smartphone De Culture' as a premium, buy-to-play experience.

Scheduled for release in spring 2027, the game will be available on PC (Steam), iOS, and Android. Unlike the original mobile version, the new title will feature optimized systems and user interfaces for keyboard and mouse controls to accommodate PC players.

The basic package is expected to include approximately 50 songs. Players will also start with over 1,000 plates with a rarity of 4 stars or higher and more than 20 outfits for each singer. A free gacha system will be provided to upgrade the rarity of held plates.

To fund development and expand content such as new songs and platforms, a crowdfunding campaign will launch on CAMPFIRE starting September 10, 2026. The development is being handled by xeen, the same team responsible for the original service.
