Augusta approves new multifunctional sports park in Contrada Pietrerosse

The municipal government of Augusta has approved the “Documento di indirizzo alla progettazione” (DIP) for a new multifunctional sports and recreational park in Contrada Pietrerosse. This project is part of a broader urban regeneration and social inclusion initiative aimed at transforming the area into an accessible green space for citizens of all ages.

The planned facilities include a five-a-side football pitch, a basketball court, and dedicated areas for fitness, calisthenics, and running. The project also features a children's playground designed with inclusivity in mind, ensuring structures are free of architectural and sensory barriers to facilitate interaction between children with and without disabilities.
