Augusta Grani, great-grandmother of Miss Italia Alice Sabatini, dies at 102

Augusta Grani has passed away in Montalto di Castro at the age of 102. She gained national recognition in 2015 when her great-granddaughter, Alice Sabatini, dedicated her Miss Italia title and crown to her.

Her nephew, Alveno Grani, described her passing as the loss of a precious keeper of memory, comparing it to the burning of a great library. Having lived through over a century of history, Grani witnessed the fall of fascism, the transition from the Kingdom of Italy to the Republic, and the first universal suffrage.
