Augusta: Worker dies after falling from tanker truck

A 53-year-old worker, identified as Giuseppe Biundo, died following a fall from the roof of a tanker truck in the industrial zone of Augusta, Sicily. The incident occurred around 8:00 AM while the man was performing tasks related to his job at a waste disposal company.

Biundo, originally from Gela, suffered severe injuries to his head and neck during the fall. Despite attempts at first aid by colleagues and the arrival of emergency medical services, he could not be saved.

The Prosecutor's Office of Syracuse has opened an investigation to determine the cause of the fall and to verify whether all required safety procedures were followed. Authorities have placed the tanker and the incident site under seizure, and an autopsy has been ordered at the Lentini hospital morgue.
