Augusto Batalla suffers tibia fracture during Rayo Vallecano match

Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper Augusto Batalla has suffered a tibia fracture during a LaLiga match against Deportivo Alavés. The injury occurred during a second-half collision while Batalla was attempting to prevent a goal by Toni Martínez.

Batalla is scheduled for surgery and is expected to be sidelined for three to six months. Depending on his recovery progress, he may not return to official competition for the remainder of 2026. Additionally, Rayo Vallecano player Isi Palazón also sustained an injury during the same match.

Batalla addressed the situation on social media, describing the injury as ‘an obligatory pause’ and expressing his determination to return stronger after rehabilitation.
