Augusto Cury endorses Flávio Bolsonaro for presidential runoff
Writer Augusto Cury has announced his support for Flávio Bolsonaro in the second round of the presidential election. Cury, who finished third in the first round with 2.89% of the vote, participated in a remote meeting with the PL senator to formalize the alliance.
During the meeting, Cury presented a letter outlining political priorities, including educational reform, teacher compensation, telemedicine expansion, and support for small businesses. The document explicitly states that the agreement does not involve the exchange of government positions or personal advantages. Bolsonaro has signed the letter, endorsing these priorities.
Renan Santos, a former presidential candidate, criticized the move, calling Cury a ‘comedy’ and questioning his previous stance of neutrality. Santos suggested that the decision might be driven by political interests, alleging that Cury’s party, Avante, is negotiating for government positions, though no evidence has been provided to confirm such an agreement.
