Augustów OSP acquires new Unimog U5023 off-road rescue vehicle

The Volunteer Fire Department (OSP) in the Lipowiec district of Augustów has acquired a new Unimog U5023 medium rescue and firefighting vehicle. This model is noted for its exceptional off-road capabilities, featuring portal axles that provide a 45-centimeter ground clearance and the ability to traverse water obstacles up to 1.2 meters deep.

The vehicle is equipped with a 5.2-liter engine producing 231 HP and a 14.5-ton gross vehicle weight. Designed for difficult terrain, the Unimog utilizes a flexible welded frame and a 4x4 drive system with differential locks to navigate challenging environments near the Augustów Primeval Forest and the Belarusian border.
