Aukštaitija Narrow-Gauge Railway celebrates 127th anniversary

The Aukštaitija Narrow-Gauge Railway is celebrating its 127th anniversary on September 26 at the historic Surdegis narrow-gauge railway station complex. To mark the occasion, special festive train trips will be organized.

Passengers can depart simultaneously at 12:00 from the narrow-gauge stations in Panevėžys and Anykščiai, arriving at Surdegis at 13:00. The celebration includes a program featuring live music, games, family entertainment, and a birthday cake. Trains are scheduled to depart the celebration site at 16:00, returning to their original stations by 17:00.

Tickets for the festive trips are priced between €30.00 and €35.00. Darius Liutikas, director of the Aukštaitija Narrow-Gauge Railway, noted that the 127-year milestone serves as evidence of the historical railway's ability to unite people and evoke unique emotions.
