AulaPlay initiative explores video games as educational tools in Santiago del Estero
The AulaPlay initiative, organized by the Asociación Civil Capacitación y Trabajo para la Comunidad de Santiago del Estero, recently concluded its second educational conference focused on the integration of video games into the classroom. Held at the Centro Cultural del Bicentenario in Santiago del Estero, the event brought together educators, researchers, and students to explore how gaming can serve as a pedagogical tool.
Aníbal Albornoz, president of the organizing association, emphasized that the goal is to use these tools to enhance curriculum development and foster critical thinking. Beyond simply using existing games, the initiative aims to teach students how to create their own video games to promote socialization and effective learning. The program also explores gamification—incorporating game elements into learning processes—and suggests that these applications are relevant from primary education through to university levels.
