Auqib Nabi joins Surrey for County Championship run-in

Surrey County Cricket Club has signed Indian fast bowler Auqib Nabi for three County Championship Division One matches during the 2026 season run-in. The 29-year-old seamer is scheduled to make his debut against Yorkshire on September 2, 2026, with subsequent fixtures planned against Glamorgan and Sussex.

Nabi joins the club following a standout domestic season in India, where he was the top wicket-taker in the Ranji Trophy. Representing Jammu and Kashmir, he claimed 60 wickets at an average of 12.56, helping his team secure its first-ever domestic title and earning him the Player of the Tournament award.

His recent professional experience includes being part of the India A squad and serving as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah in India's Test squad for the series against Sri Lanka. Additionally, Nabi was signed by the Delhi Capitals for Rs 8.4 crore during the 2026 IPL auction.
