AUR leader Petrișor Peiu calls for PSD to govern with Simion

Petrișor Peiu, leader of the AUR senators, has called on the Social Democratic Party (PSD) to consider governing alongside George Simion’s AUR formation. Peiu asserted that AUR operates with a similar organizational structure and decision-making style to the PSD, suggesting that the two parties could engage in institutional dialogue.

Peiu criticized the PSD for attempting to recruit individual sovereignist parliamentarians, warning that such practices could backfire, citing historical political precedents. He also expressed concern regarding the increasing closeness between the PSD and Nicușor Dan.

In a separate discussion regarding his political stance, Peiu emphasized that his background in engineering and interest in the economy define him more than politics. He highlighted the 'Moldova Fund' project, which aims to institutionalize Romania's international aid to the Republic of Moldova, as a priority he has yet to successfully bring to the Chamber of Deputies' agenda. Additionally, Peiu stated he maintains an open attitude toward political peers, noting he would be willing to socialize with any Romanian politician.
