AURAS and WaterAid partner to improve Mozambique water services
The Water and Sanitation Regulatory Authority (AURAS) and WaterAid have strengthened their partnership in Mozambique through a recently signed memorandum of understanding in Maputo. The agreement establishes a cooperation platform aimed at improving the quality, sustainability, and accessibility of water and sanitation services for citizens.
Key priorities of the partnership include consumer protection, access to information, and the enhancement of service quality. The collaboration intends to translate institutional commitments into a joint action plan with verifiable results. Additionally, the partnership will focus on strengthening regulatory instruments, data governance, and institutional capacity to improve public policy decision-making.
Other strategic areas include communication and regulatory literacy to help citizens understand their rights and responsibilities. The cooperation also encompasses climate financing and resilience initiatives to bolster service capacity.
