Aurel Vlaicu conducts Romania's first military aerial mission

On September 27, 1910, aviator and engineer Aurel Vlaicu conducted the first military aerial mission in Romania. Flying from Slatina to Piatra Olt, Vlaicu transported an operational document from the General Staff to Crown Prince Ferdinand. This flight made Romania the second country in the world, following France, to utilize aircraft during military maneuvers.

Historical records from the National Military Archives note that this mission marked a significant milestone in the integration of aviation into Romanian military exercises.
