Aurisina hosts contemporary sculpture residencies and workshops

Aurisina is hosting the cross-border residencies and laboratories of contemporary sculpture from August 30 to September 10. Part of the 11th edition of ‘L’Energia dei Luoghi / Festival del Vento e della Pietra’, the event focuses on the theme ‘Il diritto alla Bellezza’ (The Right to Beauty) and aims to establish the ‘Scuola di Aurisina’ as a permanent center for research and training in stone carving.

The program begins with a guided nature walk along Via della Pietra, followed by musical and artistic performances in the Ivere 3 quarry. The musical program features the all-female Slovenian ensemble Violoncelli Itineranti, performing a mix of chamber, folk, and jazz music. Additionally, artist Paolo Ferluga will present an installation titled ‘Favole d’argilla – Anime vagule blandule’, consisting of various clay sculptures depicting human and animal forms.
